When the sartorial masses invade Lincoln Center tomorrow for New York Fashion Week, there will be a fun display to check out, thanks to the event's official sponsor Mercedes-Benz. The luxury car company tapped 30 designers and front-row regulars created Fashion Plates (i.e., personalized license plates) for a project that benefits amfAR, The Foundation for Aids Research. Some of the names include Betsey Johnson, Erica Domesek of P.S.- I Made This..., Hilary Rhoda, Lela Rose, Mara Hoffman, and more. Inspiration: "Glamour is the one word that I have found myself using for as long as I can remember. I think very often the word glamour can define how you feel or how you look—it can even mean something as basic as your favorite jeans, T-shirt, and a red lip. For me, modern was also important to include, because I don't think glamour should only depict historic style or regal Hollywood. It applies to the modern woman and how it translates into her life everyday."
